The Feast of Tabernacles is a teaching that I sat under many years ago that I think is important for the Church to hear and understand. I read a book by a teacher and heard tapes from another teacher on this subject. So I had two witnesses from the Lord (Mat 18:16, 2Co 13:1). They both taught that God set up three feasts that Israel celebrated each year and that two of the feasts were prophetically fulfilled in Jesus Christ as expounded in Scriptures. Jesus was the Passover Lamb during the Feast of Passover. The Feast of Pentecost was fulfilled in the Church of Jesus Christ as depicted in Acts 2 during Pentecost. The third feast, the Feast of Tabernacles is yet to be fulfilled at the time of Jesus’ return.
Please notice that the fulfillment of the first two feasts took place at the physical time of the feasts in Israel. The fulfillment of the Feast of Passover took place during Passover. The fulfillment of the Feast of Pentecost took place at Pentecost. If the LORD follows this pattern (and there is NO indication that He will not) then the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles will take place during Tabernacles. So it is paramount that the Church learns all she can about the Feast of Tabernacles. I was planning to write an article explaining the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles, but the details are extensive. Here is what I decided to do: I have included a book on this subject that goes into much more detail than I could write in this web site. The book is titled The Feast of Tabernacles by George Warnock. I do not know if the man is still alive today. The book was written more than 60 years ago, but I can see the hand of God in it. The Holy Spirit is revealing new things daily, but this prophetic book is a good place to start your studies.
Here is what I DO see today: Jesus will return during a celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles, He will not come at any moment for we know that certain things must transpire first (although you or I may go to Him at any moment – we just do not know when we might die), His return will not be in secret (Matt.24:30, 31), the first resurrection of the dead takes place at the last trumpet and at the end of the Great Tribulation (1 Cor. 15:52, Rev. 20:4, 5), Elijah must come first to restore all things (make straight the way of the Lord) (Matt.17:11), since He has revealed times and seasons to the Church I can see that the start of the Great Tribulation will be from ten to twelve years from now. For some, that last statement probably places me in the loony bin, but, I hope for others, it will help you prepare for Christ’s return as a part of His strong Army, His Elijah Company, His Overcomer, His Two Witnesses, His Manchild that comes from the Woman with Twelve Stars as Her crown.
