The Church is not going to Heaven.
At least not in a rapture.
Life Quote: John 17:15,20 “Father, I don't ask you to take my followers out of the world, but keep them safe from the evil one. I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me.”(CEV)
Before Jesus returns to this earth He has a mighty role for the Church to play in preparing the way for the Kingdom of God to be set up right here on this earth. There must be an Elijah company of believers; the Church will mature through much tribulation and “make straight the way of the Lord.” The Lord is about to take all the glory of heaven and bring it down here. Believe me you won’t want to miss it.
When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray He told them to pray thus, “And He said to them, ‘When you pray, say: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your will be done [held holy and revered] on earth as it is in heaven.’” Luke 11:2 (Amp). In these last days the Lord has promised through the prophets to revisit His Church and to revive her parched land with the greatest visitation of the Holy Spirit the world has ever witnessed, dwarfing by comparison even the day of Pentecost.
The Apostle Peter sighted the outpouring at Pentecost as being “that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.” Acts 2:16. Indeed it was. But what they received was the “former rain, moderately.” Even so, that power and anointing literally turned the Roman world upside down and laid the foundation of Christianity for centuries to come. But the rest of Joel’s prophecy is yet to be fulfilled in the Church, “Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord, your God; for He gives you the former or early rain in just measure and in righteousness, and He causes to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain (I see a double portion of the Spirit), as before.” Joel 2:23 (Amp). James 5:7 (Amp) puts it this way, “So be patient, brethren, [as you wait] till the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. [See how] he keeps up his patient [vigil] over it until it receives the early and late rains.” Job tells us (Job 37:6) God says “to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’” The “rain shower” fell moderately at Pentecost compared to what is coming. The “mighty downpour” of God’s strength is the unlimited power and fullness of the Holy Spirit. The “mighty downpour” is reserved for the end time harvest at the return of the Lord. That is the glory of heaven that is coming on earth soon. The Lord has promised to give this earth to the saints!
Haggai 2:7-9 (Amp) tells us, “The latter glory of this house [with its successor, to which Jesus came] (the last day Church)shall be greater than the former (the early Apostolic Church), says the Lord of hosts; and in this place will I give peace and prosperity, says the Lord of hosts.” The prophet Micah 4:1,2 declares, “1BUT IN the latter days it shall come to pass that the mountain of the house of the Lord (the true Church) shall be established as the highest of the mountains; and it shall be exalted above the hills (above every man made church), and peoples shall flow to it. 2And many nations shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord (the true Church), to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways, and we may walk in His paths. For the law shall go forth out of Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
You should be able to see through the scriptures of the last two paragraphs that the coming of the Lord is going to be glorious! This “mighty downpour” of the Lord will occur at the return of Jesus to this earth, when the Church will be transformed, transfigured, changed into the very image of Jesus, and the Church will go forth and conquer! There is no need to fly away! Jesus is coming TO His Church; not FOR His Church. He is coming IN His Church; not FOR His Church. He is not coming to take us away. Those who are taken are not the Church.
The one scripture that is probably used the most for building the case for flying away is Matt.24. Matt 24:39 says, “(they)knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” But if you read the sister verse in Luke 17, that tells the same story, “took them away” does not sound very attractive; Luke 17:27 “They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe (Noah)entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” So, according to this verse to be taken away means to be destroyed!
Look what other scriptures say about being taken: Pro 11:6 “The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.” and Psa 37:9,10,11(NLT) “9 For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land. 10 Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. 11 The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.” The question for you is, “Do you still want to be taken away?”
The Church is destined to go through some hard times. The Church HAS to go through the coming hard times. If you feel you are not ready for the hard times, then get ready! The time is NOW for you to prepare. Read the Scriptures. Grow strong in the Word.
